Autumn and Winter in Llandudno North Wales - Our Tips

Autumn and Winter are somewhat of a sad time, as it starts to get colder and the memories of the summer heat start to fade away. You’re lucky that the Elm Tree is positively a perfect place to explore Llandudno year-round, even when the weather isn’t quite so bright and sunny, but more atmospheric and ethereal thanks to our seaside resort’s stunning Victorian aesthetic and glorious location on the coast of the Irish sea. The Elm Tree also offers its extensive Concierge Services, which aim to help you plan your trip to this magical region.

Perfect Views

The Elm Tree overlooks Llandudno’s Victoria Pier, which incidentally is the longest pier in all of Wales, so you are not only right on the promenade with stunning views across Llandudno bay, but also just a stone’s throw from the high street, where you can visit some of the most amazing restaurants and experiences you could wish for.

Dining

We at the Elm Tree particularly love dining at Snooze. Snooze is an incredible restaurant and bar where you can grab a delicious meal to eat and a fantastically mixed cocktail. The service there is top-notch, and many of our guests have given us fantastic reviews. As such, we heavily recommend a booking at this brilliant establishment to get the most from your trip to Llandudno.

Whisky tasting and tour

Do you or your other half fancy a tipple of quality whisky? If so, you’re in luck. Penderyn Distillery has recently opened its Llandudno Establishment, which is located on Lloyd Street. Not only is it a fabulous place to pick up some premium ‘Wisgi’ as we say in Wales, but indeed a great day out to boot. The fantastic staff will show you around and teach you all about how whisky is made. You will then be treated to a quality whiskey tasting where you will learn to appreciate the nuances of this variety of spirit. It’s an educational adventure with a drink to top the experience off!

Oceanside Walks on the Orme

Do you fancy a winter ramble? Why not take a walk around the Great Orme’s marine drive? Witness miles and miles of unmarred coastline, where your only company is the likes of goats, seals and seabirds which may nest upon the cliffs. Llandudno’s famous goats are usually found chilling out on the Orme’s grassy slopes, although they have previously made headlines for grazing on the lawns of Llandudno’s residents.

A Bird Lover’s Paradise

While we’re on the topic of wildlife, you can go to the RSPB Conwy bird reserve any time of the year to check out an exciting wild location that makes for a brilliant afternoon out. There’s nothing quite like wrapping up warm in a lofty coat and scarf and bringing a thermos of hot tea or coffee on a jaunt to spot avian wildlife. With the backdrop of the iconic Conwy castle, which sits on just the other side of the estuary, and Snowdonia adventures to be had beyond, it’s a no-brainer for a scenic spot to enjoy some of the most amazing natural environments that North Wales has to offer.

The great thing about Llandudno is that although it is undoubtedly a traditional resort town, there is more and more to do all year round, and it is an extremely attractive location to visit during the off-season. This place has all sorts of activities, theatre shows, and attractions year-round. Make your booking today – don’t miss out!
