Breakfast & Dining Out
The Elm Tree, well known for its superb breakfast menu, ensures a good start to your day! Breakfast is included in the accommodation rate and served between 8.30-9.30a.m. daily in our beautifully decorated dining room overlooking the Llandudno Bay. The ‘signature’ full breakfast offers a wide variety of freshly cooked items, mostly sourced locally, prepared and cooked to order.
For special dietary requirements the menu caters for gluten free, celiac, and vegetarian preferences, to be notified in advance. The buffet offers a ‘help yourself’ selection of fresh fruits, cereals and fruit juice with tea/coffee/toast on order. Also popular are the beautifully prepared fish dishes, smoked salmon, haddock or kippers, all sourced from the local fish monger.
Dining Out
Visitors to Llandudno are spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out. Restaurants, pubs and coffee shops are all within easy reach of The Elm Tree, offering an excellent variety of options. Here are some of our personal recommendations to help you choose.
Wu’s Chinese
A superbly decorated, family-run restaurant offering an excellent choice of traditional Chinese dishes. Wu’s Chinese has a strong reputation for fantastic food and service. Located in Craig-y-Don, around a 5-minute taxi ride or a 20-minute walk along the promenade.
The Abode
Within a 5-minute walk of The Elm Tree, The Abode offers a lively atmosphere and excellent international cuisine. Their menu specials are very popular, and the Sunday roast is hard to beat. Open for lunch and evening meals.
Osborne House
Located directly across the road from The Elm Tree, Osborne House Café and Grill is set within a lovely Grade II listed building, decorated in true Victorian style. Their seasonal menu offers a wonderful range of dishes, from fresh fish to Welsh lamb and traditional fish and chips. Perfect for celebrating a special occasion or enjoying a quiet night out.
Home Cookin’
Within easy walking distance on Upper Mostyn Street, this is a very popular choice for lunch and dinner. Expect a tasty menu of home-cooked food in a modern and fresh environment. Elm Tree guests also receive 10% off their food bill here.
The Cottage Loaf
“Proper good pub grub” with a high-standard gastropub menu, served in a traditional and characterful building. There is also a popular outdoor seating area. Around a 10-minute walk from The Elm Tree.
Carlos
Located in Craig-y-Don, a short taxi ride or around a 20-minute walk from the hotel. Carlos is an Italian restaurant with a wide variety of other dishes too, including steak, grilled fish and daily specials. Food and service are excellent.
The Snowdon
Within a short walking distance of the hotel, The Snowdon is ideal for a light lunch or early dinner. The kitchen usually closes around 6:30pm (please check their website to confirm), with drinks served until late. Great for a cocktail too.
DeVenezia
Within a 5-minute walk of The Elm Tree, this authentic Italian family-run restaurant is a local favourite. Homemade pasta, pizza, fish and meat speciality dishes are all cooked to perfection. If you enjoy Italian food, this is a must-visit.
