A jog/walk around the Great Orme
The mighty great Orme looks over the gorgeous seaside town of Llandudno, it is a fantastic place for an adventure. The marine drive makes for a great track to jog around or walk around if you prefer a more leisurely outing. You’re more than likely to see some of our famous goats on the way around.
The Great Orme mines
The Great Orme’s old mines date back as far as the bronze age, making it the oldest mining system in all of Europe. You can explore these on a guided tour of the mines via the visitor centre, you’re sure to not only have an adventurous day out but also learn a lot about the history of the area – doubly exciting!
RSPB Bird Reserve
This is an amazing day out in the wide-open space of nature. You’re more than likely to see a variety of endangered birds. You’ll also be treated to amazing sights down the Conwy estuary, from the historic visage of Conwy castle, all the way up to the towering, distant mountains of Snowdonia.
The boathouse climbing centre
What used to be an important place where the lifeboats would be kept to rescue folks out at sea, has now been converted into a compact and effective climbing centre. Here is a great place for beginners, as well as more experienced individuals to find some challenging problems to try and solve.
Llandudno Ski Slope
This high-tech dry ski slope is a great place to learn to ski or snowboard, as well as to practice your technique for more experienced extreme sports enthusiasts! Remember that no snow doesn’t necessarily mean no skiing – not when you have fantastic amenities such as this. You can even warm up in the ‘apres ski’ lodge afterwards with a hot meal or a cold pint.
MaesDu Golf CLub
This is a great golf course which is located on the outskirts of town near the famous west shore, well known for its staggering views and wide-open green spaces. Golfers come here from far and wide to experience this high-quality golf course for themselves. There are a variety of golf courses in the North Wales region, thanks to its brilliant landscape and quiet surroundings.
Llandudno boat trips
Take a trip out to sea! Boat trips around Llandudno bay are very affordable, with prices around £5 per person. Here you are treated to an oceanside view of this historic seaside town, as well as exploring the local marine seascape, like the little and great Ormes – you may even see the beautiful grey and common seals.
A swim in the sea
Nothing better than a classic nature swim! Of course, safety is always paramount when it comes to anything to do with the water, so make sure you know necessary, as well as be informed when it comes to tide times and other factors. Luckily, in Llandudno, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to swimming, as there are two beaches – the stony and iconic north shore, as well as the natural and sandy west shore.
